Praying for the Bahamas!
16. September 2019 - 9:23Hurricane Dorian has passed, and survivors are picking up the pieces. IOCC’s US team deployed, assessed the needs in the Carolinas, cleaned up four homes, and are returning the Emergency Response Vehicle to Houston to be ready to deploy when and where needed as we monitor developing tropical storms.
IOCC staff have deployed to the Bahamas as of this week. Our team is working closely with Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and coordinating with international and local organizations to assess how we can best support the Church’s response in the short and long term. The Church is very engaged, reaching out and responding to those affected by the storm. However, the situation in the Bahamas remains fluid as people continue to evacuate the affected islands.
Hierarchal Liturgy in the birthplace of Patriarch Pavle
16. September 2019 - 9:00The Feast day of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist, the day when Serbian Patriarch Pavle was born in 1914, was prayerfully celebrated in the church of Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Kucanci on 11 September 2019.
Their Graces Bishops Metodije of Deoclea and Jovan of Slavonia celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy with the concelebration of the clergy of the dioceses of Slavonia and Belgrade in the birthplace of Patriarch Pavle.
Slava of the church of Synaxis of Serbian Saints on Karaburma
16. September 2019 - 8:53The Patron Saint-day of the church of the Synaxis of All Serbian Saints on Karaburma was celebrated on 15 September 2019 with the Holy Liturgy which was officiated by His Grace Bishop Stefan of Remesiana, Vicar of the Serbian Patriarch.
The Bishop was concelebrated by Archimandrite Filimon from Kaona Monastery and many local priests and in the presence of the faithful people.
The Fourth Assembly of the Metropolitanate of Australia-New Zealand
12. September 2019 - 11:11The fourth regular Assembly of Metropolitanate of Australia-New Zealand was held on premises of the Cathedral church of Holy Great martyr in Cabramatta, Sidney, from 5th to 7th September 2019.
The Assembly began with invocation of the Holy Spirit in the church, whereupon Assembly members proceeded to the church hall where the working part of the Assembly started in presence of many priests, representatives of church communities and councils of some missionary parishes as well as of delegates from entire Metropolitanate.

With a blessing of His Grace Bishop Siluan of the Metropolitanate of Australia-New Zealand, a solemn academy on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the autocephaly and the 70th anniversary of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Australia and New Zealand was held in Pioneer Theatre in Castle Hill on 5 September 2019.
