The SOC participates in a selection of cyrillic internet domain of Serbia

On the proposal of The Serbian National Register of Internet Domain Names (RNIDS) that, regarding the activities of determining the Cyrillic domain that our country will use on the Internet network,  except representatives of other important and relevant institutions of our society, the Serbian Orthodox Church also participates, the Holy Synod of Bishops of the SOC for representatives in the working group for the selection of Serbian Cyrillic Internet domain delegated deacon Oliver Subotic, theologian and information scientist,  the head of the Center for the study and use of modern technologies

We remind that the ICANN, the international body that manages Internet domains worldwide, on October 30, 2009 adopted rules that allow the use of local languages and letters in the selection of a series of characters that will represent the country on the Internet. For those purposes only non-Latin alphabet can be used , while the language of the domain must be the official language of the country. The only national Internet domain that the Republic of Serbia now has it - .rs.
