Solemn reception regarding the departure of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch and members of the Holy Synod of Bishops from Zagreb
After the evening service in the church of St. Sava in Zagreb where His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch was present along with the host Metropolitan Jovan and many Bishops of our Holy Church, the reception was held at the premises of the spiritual centre. Among invitees there were high representatives of the City of Zagreb led by mayor Milan Bandic, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Stanislav Vukicevic, representatives of the Serbian institutions and organizations in Croatia, as well as the all who helped finishing of the construction of this magnificent church. For the great help and cooperation during the construction of the Grammar school and the spiritual centre, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch awarded Mayor of Zagreb Mr. Milan Bandic the Order of Emperor Constantine the Great.
Mayor Milan Bandic thanked His Holiness on behalf of City of Zagreb and gave Him a plaque Our Lady of Stone Gate, who is also the protector of this city.
Metropolitan Jovan of Zagreb-Ljubljana thanked the all who participated in the construction of this object and he awarded with the order of Kantakuzin Katarina Brankovic of the first degree the Deputy Mayor of the City of Zagreb Mrs. Jelena Pavicic Vukicevic, architect Mrs. Jelena Skorup Juracic and Mr. Zlatko Maletic.
President of the Serbian National Council Mr. Milorad Pupovac on behalf of the Serbian people gave a gift to Patriarch Irinej.
After the reception there was a dinner at which among the invitees also Archbishop Cardinal Josip Bozanic appeared.
