Srpska marked its Day of Republic and the Patron Saint-day
On the occasion of the Day and the Patron Saint-day of Republic of Srpska – Saint Archdeacon Stephen, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy with the concelebration of the clergy at the Cathedral church of Christ the Saviour in Banjaluka.
Marking of the Patron Saint-day (slava) – Holy First Martyr and Archdeacon Stephen and the Day of Republic of Srpska - began with the Holy Hierarchal Liturgyofficiated by His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, at the Cathedral church of Christ the Saviour in Banjaluka. The Divine Liturgy and the slava rite was attended by President of Republic of Srpska Mr. Milorad Dodik, high government officials of Republic of Srpska and Republic of Serbia and a great number of the faithful.
Along with the Patriarch Their Graces Bishops Jefrem of Banjaluka, Grigorije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina and the Littoral and Bishop Hrizostom of Zvornik-Tuzla concelebrated the Liturgy with local priests and monks of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
Prime Minister of the Government of Republik of Srpska Mrs. Zeljka Cvijanovic welcomed a delegation of the Government of Serbia led by Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic at the airport in Banjaluka.
The solemn academy was attended by Serbian Patriarch Irinej, President of Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, Prime Minister of the Government of Republic of Srpska Mrs. Zeljka Cvijanovic, President of the National Assembly of Republic of Srpska Nedeljko Cubrilovic and a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from Republic of Srpska Mladen Ivanic.
The academy was also attended by ministers in the Governments of Srpska and Serbia, members of the Parliament, a member of the collegium of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of BiH Mladen Bosic, Ambassador of the Russian Federation in BiH Petar Ivancov, representatives of non-governmental organizations established in the defensive-patriotic war, representatives of international organizations etc.
