Sts. Peter and Paul Celebration in Elizabeth
On July 12, 2021, the Feast of The Foremost among the Apostles, Sts. Peter and Paul, His Grace Bishop Irinej of Eastern America celebrated the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, concelebrated by Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Zoran Radovic, parish priest, and Protodeacon Milos Zdralic at St. George Church in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
As the Bishop noted in his homily, today is a feast day which embraces, through Sts. Peter and Paul and their shared icon, our diversity of personalities and background, united as one by our common devotion to Christ, through the Church, our community of salvation.
Further, as His Grace observed, each of the two leaders of the Apostles, in accepting Christ, received a name change, Simon to Peter and Saul to Paul, signifying their change of life on the Way, which leads to the Kingdom of Heaven.
Toward the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, a memorial service was held for the newly-reposed servant of God, Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Adam Yonitch.
