Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece performed the Holy Communion today, on Sunday of Holy Pentecost, at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Annunciation in Athens, which concelebrated Bishop Filotheos of Oreoi, Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece.

Short after the celebration of the Divine Liturgy, the Vespers Service was also performed. Several believers attended the services, observing all the precautionary measures and keeping a distance from each other in order to stem the spread of the coronavirus.

On Sunday of Holy Pentecost, the Orthodox Church commemorates the third person of the Holy Trinity, the Holy Spirit, which descended upon the Apostles on the day of Pentecost in Jerusalem and opened the way to eternal salvation.
