Sunday of Orthodoxy celebrated in Timisoara, Romania
Bishop Jovan of Slavonia and Bishop Lukijan of Buda officiated the Divine Liturgy in Timisoara on the Sunday of Orthodoxy. - An exhibition of old icons and works of the nuns of the Monastery Jasenovac in the Episcopal palace in Timisoara.
On the Sunday of Orthodoxy, 8th March 2020, Their Graces Bishop Jovan of Slavonia and Bishop Lukijan of Buda officiated the Divine hierarchal Liturgy at the Cathedral of Timisoara concelebrating with priest Jovica Gacic, Diocese of Slavonija, and the clergy of the dioceses of Timisoara and Buda. The liturgical beauty was enhanced by the church choir at St. George Church from Budapest and the church choir at the Cathedral of Timisoara.
The Synodicon was read at the end of the Liturgy.
An exhibition of works of art of the nuns of the Monastery Jasenovac of Diocese of Slavonia in the Episcopal palace in Timisoara as well as of old icons of the Diocese of Timisoara was organized. The Bishop Paisius of Luguja of the Romanian Orthodox Church, general consul of The Republic of Serbia in Timisoara Vladan Tadic and president of the Association of Serbs Ognjen Krstic were present at the opening of the exhibition.
Speaking about the works of Jasenovac nuns, Bishop Jovan emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifice of Jasenovac's new martyrs and invited everyone to visit Jasenovac.
