Ten years of Episcopal Ministry of Bishop Ilarion of the Timok
On the tenth day of August of the year of the Lord 2014, history of the God-guarded Diocese of the Timok was recorded in golden letters.
On that day, when our Holy Church offers prayers to the memory of Deacons Prohor, Nikanor, Timon and Parmen, decision of the Holy Bishops' Assembly was implemented, taken in May of the same year, by which Very Venerable archimandrite Ilarion (Golubovic) was elected Bishop of the Timok area (Eastern Serbia), as former abbot of the Monastery of St. Nicholas at Bukovo.
On that day His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej, at the Holy hierarchal Liturgy in the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Zajecar, performed the holy sacrament of consecration (heirotonia) and introduced him into the throne of the Timok bishops. At the solemn Eucharistic gathering the Patriarch was concelebrated by Archbishop Amfilohije of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro-Littoral and by Bishops: Justin of Zica, Polycarp of Belogradchik (Patriarchate of Bulgaria), Teodosije of Raska and Kosovo-Metochia, Marko of Bregalnica and Antony of Moravitsa, together with other clergymen.
Some other Bishops took part in the prayer: Irinej of Bachka, Pahomije of Vranje, David of Krusevac, John of Slavonia as well as Bishop electus Sergije of Central Europe. At the end of the Holy Eucharist, the decision of the Holy Council of Bishops was read by Bishop of Zice Justin.
