Treasury of the Church-school congregation of Zadar opened
Icons and sacred items of this Treasury show us the way of light, good and cross, which is the perfect expression of love for God and neighbor, Bishop Fotije of Dalmatia pointed out at the opening of the Treasury.
Opening of the Treasury of the Church-school congregation of Zadar is the evidence that mutual work and love for beauty and goodness win in the end. This Treasury existed since 1984 and it was opened until recent tragic war in the 1990s, when due to its protection from war destructions it had to be closed and removed.
Re-consecration and consecration of the Treasury of Zadar was performed by His Grace Bishop Fotije of Dalmatia. Local clergy concelebrated to the Bishop.
Many distinguished guests attended this important act: Mr. Branimir Sipos, deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Croatia; Mr. Zvonimir Vrancic, Mayor of the city of Zadar; Mr. Miljenko Domjan, former chief restorer of the Republic of Croatia; Mr. Zoran Vapa, director of the Institute for monument protection of Novi Sad; Mr. Cedo Visnjic, President of Serbian Cultural Society Prosvjeta from Zagreb and Mr. Milorad Pupovac, President of the Serbian National Council (SNV) from Zagreb.
The Treasury at the church of Saint Elijah in Zadar will be opened for all visitors and research workers.
