A triumphant celebration of St. Basil of Ostrog in Prijepolje

By the prayerful intercession of the great lumen of the Church, St. Basil of Ostrog the Wonderworker, a great crowd of people gathered from all over the Diocese of Mileseva and from other areas, on the patron saint of the Cathedral in Prijepolje, i.e. the day of his celebration on May 12, 2019.

The Divine Liturgy was officiated by His Grace Dr. Mitrofan, Bishop of the Diocese of Canada, along with the participation of the Diocesan Bishop of Mileseva Atanasije; dean of Priboj Archpriest-Stavrophor Dragan Vidakovic; Director of the Radio Mileseva, Archpriest-Staurophor Marko Papic; dean of Nova Varos, Archpriest Stanko Blagojevic; abbot of the Dormition monastery at Seljane, hieromonk Petar; abbot of the monastery of Holy Archangels at Djurdjevica Tara, hieromonk Zosim; principal of the Church of St. Nikolaj of Ohrid and Žiča at Kolovrat, priest Nebojša Jovanović, as well as of two  deacons.

A large number of children and adults approached the Lord's Table. After an ante-ambo prayer, a stream of people, several thousands of them, walked from the Cathedral along the streets of the city of Prijepolje, during which the hierarchs prayed for this God-saved town and all its inhabitants. The patron saint offerings, prepared by the host of this year's church celebration Mr. Vojislav Dosković with his family, were blessed by Bishop Mitrofan.

His Grace Bishop Atanasije greeted the festal gathering and exposed the life of the patron saint, St. Basil of Ostrog, and requested His Grace Bishop Mitrofan of Canada, who came on behalf of the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, to address the faithful.
