Unchanged position of the Russian Church regarding Kosovo and Metohija

The new Russian Patriarch Kyrill confirmed during the discussion with the delegation of the SOC, led by Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral, the position of the Russian Church regarding Kosovo and Metohija.  The position bases on respect of the territorial integrity of Serbia and international treaties .

The Russian Patriarch Kyrill confirmed  the position of the Russian Church regarding Kosovo and Metohija.Patriarch Kyrill of Moscow and all Russia received the delegation of the SOC just few days after the election of the new patriarch on January 27.

Kyrill also expressed his support to the SOC regarding the situation in Montenegro, where are attempts to establish new church, separated of the SOC.

"I want to say that we support Serbian church in an attempt to save its unity and integrity, so it can serve Serbian people with more strength.", the patriarch said.

The Russian patriarch wished all the best to Serbian patriarch Pavle, who has been in the hospital for a long time.

The new Russian patriarch has been elected after the death of the former Russian patriarch Alexy in December.
