A number of priests from the Cleveland Deanery gathered at New Marcha Monastery on June 28th, 2017, to serve Divine Liturgy on the Feast of Vidovdan.  Joining monastic Sister Anastasija and the assembled Orthodox faithful were Fr. Dragan Goronjic, Dean of the Cleveland Deanery and parish priest at Holy Trinity in Youngstown, and Fr. Sinisa Hrvacevic, parish priest of St. George in Lorain.

This Feast is of particular significance to Serbian Orthodox communities throughout the world as an annual commemoration of the battle of Kosovo, Holy St. Prince Lazar, and All Serbian Martyrs.   For New Marcha Monastery, Vidovdan also marks an important annual commemoration of the fire that damaged the church a number of years ago. Although the heat of that destructive flame was intense, it did not consume the icon of St. Archangel Gabriel – even though the icon stand was completely destroyed.

A meal of fellowship was enjoyed by all those gathered.
