Metropolitan Amfilohije visited the seat of the Church of Antioch in Buenos Aires and a parish in General Madriaga

On 30 November 2017 His Eminence Amfilohije, Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral and the Administrator of South-Central America, escorted by parish priest Esteban Jovanovic and protodeacon Vladimir Jaramaz, upon the invitation of Metropolitan Silouan of Buenos Aires, visited his Cathedral church of Saint George and the seat of the Diocese of the Church of Antioch in Buenos Aires.

In a very cordial and open talk the two Metropolitans discussed the role and future of the Orthodox Church in Argentina and South America. The Hierarchs agreed that it was necessary to translate and print Orthodox liturgical books and spiritual literature in Spanish for the sake of spreading the mission of our holy Church. The hierarchs exchanged gifts and once more expressed great joy for the reason that these two dioceses of the sister Churches have proved a great cooperation.

On 1 December Metropolitan Amfilohije continued his canonical visit to Ecuador and Columbia, where he visited parish communities  in Guayaquil and Bogota.

On Wednesday, 29 November, when the Orthodox Church celebrates Saint Gregory of Neo-Caesarea, His Eminence Amfilohije, escorted by parish priest Esteban Jovanovic and protodeacon Vladimir Jaramaz, visited an Orthodox parish in the town of General Madriaga located 400 kilometers south of Buenos Aires.

On this occasion the Metropolitan was a guest of the Njegos Association.

In Madriaga there are 100 families which originate from Montenegro. These people hold to their Orthodox faith and preserve their roots.

After the vesper service Metropolitan Amfilohije gave an interview for local newspapers Trivuna and the regional TV station Channel 3.
