Visit to the Temporary COVID Hospital in Stark Arena

With the blessing of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije and with the approval of the Ministry of Defense, representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church visited the Temporary COVID Hospital in Stark Arena in Belgrade on March 17, 2021 (photo gallery).

Protopresbyter-staurophor Vladimir Vukasinovic, head of the Ruzica church; priest Zoran Kerezovic, priest at the Clinical Center of Serbia; hieromonk Efrosin Uko, a graduate of the Faculty of Theology; deacons of the Ruzica church Srboljub Ubiparipovic, vice dean of the Orthodox Theological Faculty, and Vladimir Radovanovic, manager of the Museum of the Serbian Orthodox Church; religious teachers deacons Stevan Jovanovic and Velibor Martinovic and student Kristina Davidovic visited the Temporary COVID Hospital in Stark Arena in Belgrade.

Although such a visit may seem unusual to some, even unexpected, it represents an organic, natural, expression of church activity in the world.

Representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church were warmly welcomed and escorted through the entire hospital by hardworking and dedicated doctors and officers: hospital Commander Colonel Dr. Radivoje Andjelkovic, Deputy Commander Colonel Dr. Zarko Micovic, Assistant Commander for treatment Colonel Dr. Predrag Bogdanovic, Assistant Commander for logistics Lieutenant Colonel Miroslav Gengo and Civil Coordinator Primarius Dr. Vlado Batnozic. On this occasion, in addition to prayerful words of encouragement, the sick were given modest gifts - an icon, a cross and water from the chapel of St. Petka.
