A memorial service was held for all the innocent victims of the pogrom of the Serbian people during the Croatian military-police action “Storm” in 1995. The memorial rite was served by His Grace Heruvim with concelebration of the clergy of the Diocese of Osijek-Polje and Baranja., in the Cathedral church of the Translation of the Relics of Saint Nicholas, the Miracle Worker, in Vukovar on Monday, August 3, 2020.

The prayers in the Vukovar church of St. Nicholas were attended by Mrs. Dragana Jeckov, MP and Vice President of the SDSS; Mr. Srdjan Jeremic, president of ZVO; Mr. Svetislav Mikerevic, President of the County Council; Mr. Srdjan Kolar, President of the City Organization of SDSS Vukovar; Mr. Djordje Curcic, Deputy County Prefect of Vukovar-Srijem County; Mr. Dusan Jeckov, President of the SDSS County Organization; and other representatives of the social, cultural and educational life of the city of Vukovar as well as by the faithful of the Vukovar region.

- Throughout the history, the Church has always had a prudent and always in the spirit of truth attitude towards all the victims who suffered innocently. She has always been there to pray for them, for their salvation and for the salvation of their souls. Relating to this last suffering of the Serbian people, we sincerely pray for those who committed any crime and for those who suffered in that crime, that God might make some understand, and accept the others into the Kingdom of Heaven, Bishop of Osijek-Polje and Baranja pointed out.
