Vuk's Assembly begins

In Loznica the 77th Vuk's Assembly began, and the seven-day event, which is held every year in Jadar in honour of Vuk Karadzic, was opened by Minister of Culture, Information and Information Society Predrag Markovic.

At the event organized in the Vuk's House of Culture in Loznica, the welcoming words were said by mayor of Loznica Mr. Vidoje Petrovic and President of the City Assembly of Kragujevac and city representative Mr. Sasa Milenic.

The Vuk's Assembly - the oldest traditional cultural manifestation in Serbia in its 77th presentation, is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Nobel Prize for literature of Iva Andric.

Vuk's Assembly was held in 1933 for the first time, on the day of the opening of the renovated Vuk's house.
