Waynesburg University Students Come to St. George Church

Saturday October 29, 2016 two classes of students from Waynesburg University in Waynesburg Pennsylvania came to St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Carmichaels, Pennsylvania to perform community service work.

The students are in classes taught by Dr. Ezekiel Olagoke and Dr. Richard Romanos Pierce. Dr. Olagoke is a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church. Dr. Pierce  is Orthodox and attends St. George Church frequently.

Professor Olagoke’s class came to computerize the records of St. George Church Cemetery. The students were recording the grave locations.  Professor Pierce’s class performed improvement work in the parish house.

Stan Brozik, St. George Church Executive Board President came to greet the students and to provide guidance in the work being done. Mr. Brozik oversees the cemetery grave allocation.

During their time at the St. George Church the students had an opportunity to see the interior of the church. Professor Olagoke encourages his students to visit the church. Professor Pierce has written about his experiences.

The St. George Church is grateful to Dr.Olagoke and Dr. Pierce and the students for the work performed. The students were a refreshing presence at St. George Church.  The work performed was beneficial to the parish.
