Youngstown CSS celebrates Patronal feast
On Sunday, August 29, 2021, our dear Circle of Serbian Sisters celebrated their Slava – Feast Day of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos! We were truly humbled and honored to have so many of our dear brothers and sisters in Christ present to pay respect and give praise to these women of valor.
Women of varying ages, who exemplify what it means to have active faith through serving Christ and our parish as our Serbian Sisters. President of the Sisters, Mira Popovich, gave opening remarks calling for the need to continue the legacy of Sisters by the next generation. Sister Jenni Meyer, gave us a beautiful reflection on the history of the Sisters and how generations before us began the work, which these women have continued today which is to serve Christ and his Church. Danica Jovanovic accepted to be the host for the following year, by receiving a quarter of the blessed bread from the hands of this year’s host, Vesna Bevan.
May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ forever bless the Circle of Serbian Sisters.
