Annual exhibition of works of students of the Academy - Higher school of the SOC for arts and conservation formally opened

With the blessing and on behalf of His Holiness IRINEJ, Serbian Patriarch, His Grace Bishop Atanasije, Vicar of Patriarch, opened on June, 15 2010 in the Academy- Higher School of the Serbian Orthodox Church for arts and conservation in Belgrade the annual exhibition of the works of students of this church institution of the higher educatio, accredited by the Ministry of Education. The opening of the exhibition was attended by His Grace  Jovan Bishop of Dioclea and heugomen of Ostrog, the president of the Council of the Academy- Higher school of the SOC, professors, students, representatives of the Ministry of Faith and Education of the Republic of Serbia and the City of Belgrade, as well as many other people from the cultural and public life of the capital.

While opening the exhibition Bishop Atanasije handed, on behalf of Patriarch IRINEJ, the order of St. Sava of the Second Class, which was awarded by the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church fro love towards the Mother Church and a special contribution in the field of education as a great benefactor of the Academy - Higher School of the SOC to Hadji Dragoljub Stojanovic - Nikac. The Dean informed the present on how Mr. Stojanovic had given to the library of the Higher school a gift of 2000 books in all languages of the world, because he was a great connoisseur of the Bible and biblical geography and history. 

On the exhibition, icons, frescoes, mosaics and sculptural works are presented and a special attention of the public was drawn to the restored icons from the monastery of Krka (from XVII century)of the museum of the SOC and the plated frames from the Church of Theotokos in Zemun.
