Ascension of the Lord celebrated in Jakovo

On the occasion of the Patron Saint-day of the church of Holy Ascension of the Lord in Jakovo, His Grace Bishop Vasilije of Srem officiated the solemn Liturgy.

On the occasion of the Patron Saint-day of the church of the Ascension of the Lord in Jakovo, 9 June 2021, the festal Vigil service was served by priest Aleksandar Simic, while head of the church Perica Vlainis and protopresbyter-staurophor Mile Jokic sang responses, parish priest of Busije, former parish priest of Jakovo.

Father Milorad Golijan spoke in the parish hall about the testimony of Christ's encounter with the Samaritan woman at Jacob's spring, while archpriest Strahinja Golijan, the Diocesan dean of Zemun, spoke a short speech on the topic "Christ - the Source of Living Water".

Tomorrow, on 10 June 2021, the Ascension of the Lord, the church slava, was celebrated with the Holy Liturgy in the church of Holy Ascension of the Lord in Jakovo.

Bishop Vasilije of Srem officiated the solemn Liturgy, while he was concelebrated by Diocesan Dean of Zemun archpriest Strahinja Golijan and the local clergy.

The solemn Liturgy was attended by President of the Municipality of Surcin Mr. Stevan Susa, representatives of the Armed Forces of Serbia, pupils of the primary school "Karadjordje"
