Bishop Joanikije served on remains of an old church

Few years ago, at a foot of the mountain of Komova, few kilometres from Andrejevica, in the village of Kosutic, remains of an old church were uncovered at the site called Namastir. It is a very old church, which belongs to the oldest churches so far discovered in Polimlje, which do not exist in the area of our diocese. The church was probably from the fifth or sixth century. It is assumed that this was once a seat of the diocese. On July 15, this year, His Grace Bishop Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic with priests served the Divine Liturgy at the foundations of this church.

Bishop consecrated and cut the slava cake along with a president of the committee for the restoration of this sanctuary Mr. Mileta Djerkovic. After the service, a luncheon of love was prepared.
