Bulgaria's Varna Hosts Week of Christian Orthodox Book

The Bulgarian Black Sea capital Varna is hosting the week of the Christian Orthodox Book", which opens on Monday and will continue through September 14. The event's main focus is "the church, the religious enlightenment and the Christian education." At the week's official opening the Bishop of Varna Kiril presented his new book "The exploit of the Boyar Colonel Nikolay Kireev and Bulgaria's Liberation."

A seminar dedicated to discussions about the organization, the goals and the tasks of the religious Christian schools is also going to take place during the "Christian Orthodox Book" week.

Many orthodox clergy, editors and theologians have been invited to attend the event including Bishop Atansiy from the Serbian Orthodox Church and Bishop Ilarion from the Russian one.

The forum is also going to feature several orthodox documentaries. One of them is the film "The Fall of the Empire - the Byzantium Lesson" to be presented in person by its creator - the Abbot from the Moscow Sretenski Monastery, Archimandrite Tihon.
