The Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria suspends all its services during the Holy Week

The Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria extends the suspension of all its services throughout Holy Week due to coronavirus pandemic.

Easter Sunday is celebrated by the Copts on April 19th, as is the Orthodox Easter.At the same time the Coptic Orthodox Church emphasizes that the Sacrament of Marriage does not take place at all, while only close family members can attend at funerals.

The Coptic Orthodox Church has even asked local workshops of its parishes across the country to make clothes for medical personnel, and has also decided to offer 3 million Egyptian pounds (about 167,000 euros) for the purchase of ventilators.
