International Conference on Orthodox Church Music Concludes

The 4th International Conference on Orthodox Church Music concluded on Friday, 10 June 2011 here, at the School of Theology, University of Eastern Finland. The conference, hosted by the International Society for Orthodox Church Music (ISOCM), featured participants from twenty different countries presenting papers on a variety of topics related to the conference's overall theme of "Unity and Variety in Orthodox Music: Theory and Practice."

Concert of State Symphony Orchestra "New Russia"

The concert of the State Symphony Orchestra "New Russia" and violinist Alena Bayeva, will be held on June 14, in the Great Hall of the Sava Center in Belgrade, on the occasion of marking the Day of Russia. The orchestra, led by the conducter Yuriy Bashmet, will perform Fantasy-Overture - Romeo and Juliet by Chaikovsky, Suite from the ballet Romeo and Juliette by Prokofyev, Concert for violine and orchestra and the Solemn uverture by Shostakovich.

Christmas Caroling with the Branko Radichevich Cathedral Choir

For the fourth consecutive year, the Serbian Singing Society Branko Radichevich, our Cathedral choir, visited nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, and private homes through the northern portion of Chicago, Cook and DuPage counties and southern Lake County, traveling through the more than 1500 square miles that comprises the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Libertyville and Chicago.

Fourth International Conference on Orthodox Church Music Announced

The International Society for Orthodox Church Music (ISOCM) announced that the 4th International Conference on Orthodox Church Music will be held 6-12 June, 2011 at the University of Eastern Finland, in Joensuu, Finland.

Orthodox Music Society Launches Expanded Website

The International Society for Orthodox Church Music (ISOCM) recently launched an expanded version of their website at www.isocm.com which will enable the Society to enhance the development of musical resources throughout the worldwide family of Orthodox Churches. quot;Orthodox musicians are found in all corners of the world today, and the ISOCM wants to reinforce the unity of Orthodox Christianity in tangible ways for those living in modern society," according to the Rev. Ivan Moody, ISOCM Board Chairman, "The expanded ISOCM website will serve as a portal to Orthodox music resources on the web."
