Metropolitan Hilarion takes part in the opening of 5th Christmas Festival of Religious Music in Moscow
12. January 2015 - 13:29On 9 January 2015, the 5th Christmas Festival of Religious Music opened at the International House of Music in Moscow. Mr. Vladimir Spivakov, President of the Moscow International House of Music, and Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, act as artistic directors of the Festival.

If you have ever attended a Divine Liturgy responded to by a choir, you have probably heard one of his arrangements during the service. Even if you attended liturgy responded to by a single chanter, they probably sang a traditional church hymn notated by Stevan Stojanovic Mokranjac, one of the most significant composers in Serbian history /program and poster/.
Blessing and support for great music challenge
7. February 2013 - 15:42His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, met on 22 June 2011 Mr. Dejan Miladinovic, renowned composer and conductor, professor of the Music Academy in Belgrade, manager of the Opera of the National Theatre and “ The Belgrade Madrigal Choir”.
Mr. Miladinovic visited His Holiness planning to present his newly created work – libretto for opera “By this Sign…’’(In hoc Signo…), which would be finished on the occasion of marking the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Saint Emperor Constantine.
Music Edict at Kolarac

December 2012 - 15:00With the blessing of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, towards the anniversary of the Edict of Milan, last night at the Kolarac People's University a concert was held within the international festival of spiritual music - the Music Edict. Promoters of the festival are Church-singing society Branko and cathedral choir of the Cathedral church in Nis.
Jordan Nikolic and Kosovo folk songs
1. December 2011 - 8:30Jordan Nikolic was born in Prizren, Kosovo and Metohija, in 1933. He studied Serbian language and literature at the Belgrade University, however he was interested in the folk music and motivated to become a musician and a folk singer.
Nikolic had his first serious contacts with the singing of folk songs, and at the same time the first recordings, in Radio Pristina back in 1961. Two years later, he also became a music editor. In 1968, he started recording for Radio Belgrade, never stopping to expand his repertoire of the Kosovo folk songs and the circle of fans.
