On the Deaths of the Persecutors - Lactantius (Serbian translation)
Academy of the Serbian Orthodox Church for Fine arts and conservation from Belgrade started an edition: Treasury of the Holy Fathers, in which the first book is the work of Lactantius On the Deaths of the Persecutors (Latin: De mortibus persecutorum). The translation was done by Dr Milena Milin. The proofreading was done by Mr Dusica Petrovic. The editor of this publication and newly-created edition is protopresbyter-stavrophor Dr Radomir Popovic.
The work of Lactantius On the Deaths of the Persecutors has appeared for the first time in Serbian translation and during the 1700th Anniversary of the Edict of Milan (313-2013). This pamphlet is neither primarily theological nor Lactantius was primarily a theologian, as there were in the 4th century. On the Deaths of the Persecutors is important, above all, the church and historical work that illuminates a significant aspect of Christianity in the history in the first three centuries and the first two crucial decades of the fourth century about which the writer as a contemporary gives us the most data.
The publication of this book was sponsored by Ministry of Faith and Diaspora of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
