Epiphany at Djurdjevi Stupovi monastery near Berane

On the feast of Epiphany, January 19, 2010  His Grace Bishop Joanikije of Budimlje and Niksic served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy with priests at the Djurdjevi Stupovi monastery near Berane. During the service a great number of the faithful received the Sacrament, and afterwards there was the sanctifying of Epiphany water.

At noon Bishop and the priesthood, in the presence of lost of faithful people, performed consecration of the Lim river. For the second year in a row, the bravest jumped in the cold river for the Precious cross and these were: protosyngellos Danilo (Trpcevski), monk Anastasije (Bulatovic), Jovan Bojovic, Milos Bakic, Srdjan Milanovic, Veljko Markovic, Milutin Rajovic and Zdravko Lakicevic. Bishop congratulated to Srdjan Milanovic, who was the most skillful,  and emphasized that the young men who dived into the Lim river "were carried by love of Christ" and he prayed that all of them "power of the Precious Cross refreshes and leads through all the days of their life.”

The brave swimmers after that were the guests of Bishop Joanikije at the Diocesan court.
