For Eternal Memory of Nikola Tesla
Besides the competent Bishop Dr. Mitrophan of East America and Bishop Georgije of Canada, the consecration of the monument in Long Island, the place where once was a lighthouse of Nikola Tesla, was also attended by American and Serbian officials, among which, as a main guest was President of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Tomislav Nikolic. Bishop Georgije of Canada performed the act of the consecration, who got this honor for he was admirer of the work of Nikola Tesla and the initiator of the idea that remains of the Serbian scientist place on the plateau of the church of Saint Sava on Vracar.
After the consecration Bishop Georgije and President Nikolic addressed the present. In his speech President Nikolic emphasized that Tesla was „the greatest genius that Serbian mother had fef and, like the Mother of God, gave to the mankind as a gift“, Tesla’s contribution to mankind, Nikolic said, received mythical proportions, for Tesla „tamed waterfalls, committed the biblical task to be light in dark. About Tesla we can talk as “our contemporary who will be contemporary also for generation that come after us”.
President Nikolic especially emphasized the relation between Serbia and America which is reflected in Tesla’s work.
