Exhibition "Serbia - the cultural bond of the East and the West" opens in Vienna

In the Erzbischöfliches Palais (Archbishop's palace) in Vienna the exhibition "Serbia - the cultural bond of the East and the West" was opened last night. At the formal opening speeches were given by sponsors of the exhibition, presidents of Austrian and Serbia, Heinz Fischer and Boris Tadic, also the host of the exhibition, Roman Catholic Archishop, Cardinal Christoph Schönborn, and on behalf of the SOC, Bishop Irinej of Backa, the member of the Holy Synod of Bishop.

Bishop Konstantin of Middle Europe, who also participated in the formal opening of the exhibition, described it as "a cultural event of a great significance for the Serbian people". Bishop expressed his belief that the exhibition "will contribute to get a real image of the Serbian people which was much distorted in last two decades and beyond".

The Exhibition "Serbia - the cultural bond of the East and the West" will last from June 30 until October 30. During the jubilee year of the Vienna's church community, the Austrian capital from September 10 until 14 and His Holiness IRINEJ, Serbian Patriarch.
