Five years since the Pogrom of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohia: Memorial service at Cathedral church on Tuesday March 17, 2009 at no

 On Tuesday, March 17, 2009  was five years since the pogrom of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohia. His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral served at noon at the Belgrade Cathedral church a memorial service to all suffered Serbs in Kosovo and Metohia; with the concelebration of members of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church: Bishop Hrizostom of Zica, Bishop Hrizostom of Bihac and Petrovac; then Bishop Pahomije of Vranje and vicar Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno, and protopresbyter-staurophor Sava B. Jovic, Luka Novakovic, Dragoslav Ubiparipovic, Dragomir Sanda, Radic Radicevic, Branko Topalovic, Slavisa Popovic and protodeacon Stevan Rapajic and Vlada Mikic; and in a presence of His Eminence Metropolitan Jovan of Zagreb and Ljubljana and His Grace Bishop Filaret of Milesevo.

 The prayer remembrance to innocently suffered Serbs in Kosovo and Metohia was, except thefaithful people, attended by Boris Tadic, the President of Serbia; Goran Bogdanovic, minister for Kosovo and Metohija; Dr Bogoljub Sijakovic, minister of Religion and Dragan Curovic, secretary of state at the Ministry of Faith of the Government of the Republic of Serbia; academician Matija Beckovic, Dr Vojislav Kostunica, Radomir Naumov, Dr Milan Radulovic and Slobodan Samardzic.

 His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije began a speech saying that every crime is asource of a new crime, and that we all had prayed the Lord for all those innocently suffered inKosovo and Metohia`s  St. Bartholomew's Day massacre in 2004, when our brothers and sisters suffered and when many churches and monasteries were destroyed, and which were and stayed the guardians of the Serbian cultural heritage in Kosovo and Metohia. Metropolitan Amfilohije emphasized that evil cannot bring any good, and that the creation of "independent" Kosovo causes new evil, which does not need anyone in this region. At the end of the speech Metropolitan prayed the Lord saying Let the God give a sense and a wisdom to those who decide about faith of the people in the whole world, so as to evil does not multiply.
