Formal procession from Jagodina to Monastery of Josanica
On Saturday, September 10, 2011, on the Eve of the feast day of the Beheading of St. John the Forerunner and the Baptist, pious citizens of Jagodina led by His Grace Bishop Jovan of Sumadija and their priesthood went in an formal procession from the Old Church in Jagodina to the monastery of Josanice on the occasion of the slava of monastery chapel of the Synaxis of All Serbian Saints.
Faithful people carrying banners, crosses , Gospel and the relics of Saint Panteleimon the Great martyr, remembering the Forerunner and his sacrifice, in this way expressed its faith and submitted hard work as its victim. Those who could not participate in the baptismal walk they would come out in front of their house holding a home icon and asking for blessings from their Bishop. FInally they arrived to the monastery, where the heugomen of the monastery Archimandrite Evtimije with his fraternity welcomed the Bishop with a round bread.
After a short rest the vesper service was served, when the relics of Saint Panteleimon, carried in procession, were presented to the faithful.
Tomorrow, on the day of the slava, the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was served led by archimandrite Dositej as a guest from the Grgeteg monastery with the concelebration of the guest from Ukraine hieromonk Nikodim and the priests from Jagodina.
