Formal welcome of Serbian Patriarch in Chicago

 

In the late evening, on February 16, 2011, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch arrived in Chicago accompanied by protodeacon Prof. Dr Stanimir Spasovic. Besides His Grace Bishop Longin of Nova Grachanica and Midwestern America and local priesthood, His Holiness was welcomed also the representatives of the diplomatic cord of Serbia, led by Consul General Mr. Desko Nikotovic.

The same night in the Cathedral church of Holy Ressurection of Christ His Holiness was welcomed by lots of children from the St. Sava Academy (Serbian primary school) at this church. On this occasion the doxology was served regarding the arrival of Serbian Patriarch, who is the administrator of the Metropolitanate of Libertville-Chicago after Metropolitan Christopher of Libertville-Chicago of blessed repose passed away.
