Funeral service for Slobodan Danko Popovic

His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral and His Grace Bishop Jovan of Shumadija served yesterday, on August 11, 2009, at the church at Bukovica in Arandjelovac, the funeral service for the reposed academician Slobodan Danko Popovic. The hierarchs served with the concelebration of twenty priests and seven deacons. Their Highnesses Prince Vladimir and Princess Brigita attended the funeral service as well as many academicians, politicians, representatives of cultural and art life of Serbia.

His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije spoke of this prominent academician. He also emphasized that the Popovic's Book on Milutin was actually the book about him, the book about us, for through Milutin a being of this people had spoken, all its cumulated suffering, its pain, dignity, its humiliation, and furthermore about the inner force and power that had given it not just the power of surviving, but also the eternal and everlasting living.

Representatives of political, cultural and art life of Serbia also gave speeches about the academician Popovic.
