His Grace Bishop Maxim visits Denver and Colorado Springs parishes

On Saturday April 6, His Grace visited Colorado Springs, CO where Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the local OCA church. Faithful from across town gathered to welcome our hierarch.

Three priests concelebrated with His Grace, Fr. Anthony, Fr. Simeon and Fr. Radovan. This gathering was especially joyful due to the feast day of Annunciation to the Mother of God. This feast day is a patron feast for the small Serbian mission community in Col. Springs. This parish is a “satellite” parish of Denver church. After the Liturgy Slava custom and a banquet were held in the church hall. Also, presentation of the monograph The Serbian Christian Heritage of America took place. His Grace offered one copy as a gift to Fr. Anthony Karbo for his love and help to Serbian Community in Col. Springs.

In the evening Bishop Maxim arrived to Denver where vesperal service was held. Dinner and fellowship followed. On Sunday, April 7, on the feast day of Annunciation, Liturgy was celebrated to the glory of this important occasion. During the sermon His Grace stressed the values and meaning of the Annunciation as well as Mother of God being our protectress and most prayed person by the faithful. After many participated of the Holy Communion, celebration continued in the church hall with lunch and presentation of the monograph. Before heading out Vladika Maxim blessed all that were gathered on this day and wished to all blessed continuation of the Lent as well as blessed upcoming Pasha. As His Grace was heading east towards the DIA, snow covered peaks of the Rocky Mountains stood high and proud and were shining bright witnessing His Grace’s visit and awaiting His return to the “Mile High City”.
