Japan gets first Coptic Orthodox Church

A new church was consecrated in Kyoto, Japan on the 15 of July 2016. Bishop Daniel Bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Church Diocese of Sydney and Affiliated Region presided over the ceremony and over 100 participants from Japan, Egypt, Ethiopia, and Eritrea were present for the occasion.
The Coptic Orthodox Church has been active in Japan since 2004. The new 3 storey building, named after St.Mary and St. Mark was purchased from another denomination
and has been in use for over 30 years.
The Coptic Orthodox Church plans to expand its ministry in the region.
