Look, what is better, or beautiful, than for the brothers to live together
His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch, attended on 27 November 2021, the Sunday's festal vesper service on the Eve of the beginning of the Nativity Fast in the chapel of Holy Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Belgrade.
The service was attended by professors and students of the Seminary of Saint Sava together with professors and students of the Faculty of Theology. A carnival dinner followed, during which the Rector of the Seminary, Deacon Radomir Vrućinić, greeted all present, wishing them a happy and blessed beginning of Nativity Lent, while, on behalf of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology, presbyter Srboljub Ubiparipović, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Teaching, greeted the audience. -We are a two-way school and with this event, we show conciliarity in accordance with the words of forefather David: Look, what is better or beautiful when brothers live together. The period of fasting is a reminder that it is very important to know the truths of one's faith, to know that faith is not something that belongs to reason, but it encompasses the whole man, his mind, his heart and his entire personality. Through experience, we know God and it is active and springs from the fact of active faith. May this beginning of fasting be an introduction to the ultimate and most important goal and, using our weaknesses, use fasting as a period in which we want to stand before God and ask God to help us get rid of everything that hinders us from growing in Christ.
