Serbian Patriarch meets with President of Serbia
14. November 2013 - 12:00President of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Tomislav Nikolic received His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, at the Office of the President of Serbia yesterday.
The discussion was about resolving the open property and legal issues between the Serbian Orthodox Church and the state, as well as the problem of building of the Library of the Serbian Patriarchate. In the talks there were involved: Vice President of the Government of Serbia Mr. Aleksandar Vucic, Minister of Culture and Information Mr. Ivan Tasovac, Minister of Justice and State Administration Mr. Nikola Selakovic, the head of the Library of the Serbian Patriarchate MSc Zoran Nedeljkovic and Director of the Directorate for the Property of the Republic of Serbia.
Pope meets with Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk
12. November 2013 - 16:22Pope Francis has met with the foreign minister of the Russian Orthodox Church ahead of a Nov. 25 visit to the Vatican by President Vladimir Putin.
The Vatican released no details of Tuesday’s meeting with Metropolitan Hilarion, in Rome for a Catholic-Orthodox conference on family values.
Alumni Association Honors Dean Emeritus

November 2013 - 11:12More than 70 family members, friends, parishioners of local churches, and alumni of St. Vladimir's turned out to honor Protopresbyter Thomas Hopko at St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Allison Park, PA, on Sunday, October 27, in celebration of "Father Tom's" 50th Anniversary of ordination to the priesthood. The event, which was sponsored by St. Vladimir's Seminary Alumni Association and hosted by the parish community at the cathedral, began with a Moleben of Thanksgiving served by Cathedral Dean The Very Rev. Michael Senyo, with choir responses led by The Very Rev. Thomas Soroka, rector of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, McKees Rocks, PA.

I appeal to the groups forbidding them from leaving sieged areas and to negotiate with them an evacuation in a safe way where they wouldn’t be harmed. Allowing them to move to Derattiah direction or in Homs direction where we will be waiting to receive them.
Hopes and aspirations for the tenth WCC Assembly
