Russia wants an investigation on violations of the rights of Serbs in Kosovo

Russia insists on the investigation of all the cases of violation of human rights of Serbs in Kosovo, it was said yesterday in Moscow, by Konstantin Dolgov, the envoy of the Russian Foreign Ministry for Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law, noting that the provocative actions of Prishtina "destabilize the situation in the province."

Serbian FM: So-called state of Kosovo cannot own SPC monuments

Monasteries and churches of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) cannot belong to the so-called Republic of Kosovo, Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic stated at the UNESCO General Conference in Paris on Monday.

“In this Organisation, we are supposed to protect and nurture cultural identities, not be complicit in politicized attempts to carve up new ones,” Jeremic underscored.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Vuk Jeremic said today at the General Conference of Unesco in Paris that monasteries and churches of the Serbian Orthodox Church cannot belong to so-called "Republic of Kosovo".

"In this organization it is expected from us to protect and care the cultural identities we have, not to be accomplices in a political attempts to create new ones", Jeremic pointed out.

Orthodox students’ house opened at University of Fribourg, Switzerland

On October 28, 2011, Metropolitan Hilarion, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations, led a solemn ceremony of opening a house for Orthodox students at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland.

The event was attended by Archbishop Diego Causero, apostolic nuncio to Switzerland, Rev. Gwido Vergauwen, rector of the university, Prof. Mariono Delgado, dean of the faculty of theology, Ms. Barbara Hallensleben, professor of dogmatic theology, as well as professors and students of the university.

The Government of Montenegro does not plan to create ministry of faith, vicepresident of the Government Dusko Markovic said in the Montenegrin parliament. In his answer to a question of the member of assembly from New Serbian Democracy party Budimir Aleksic said that  "a special sector" would be formed in the existing ministry for human and minority rights, which would deal with religious communities.

Orthodox University to be opened in Kinshasa, Congo

Metropolitan Nicephorus of Central Africa (Patriarchate of Alexandria), met with the Minister of Higher Education and University of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Leonard Mashako Mamba, to request a final approval of the Orthodox University in Kinshasa. 

Medical and computer school are about to be opened within this university is also know Nicéphore Mgr. The minister "expressed willingness to grant final approval to the Orthodox University of Congo that has a modern infrastructure that can contribute to quality training of Congolese youth."
