A conference on ‘The Contribution of Mount Athos to Europe’s Religious and Intellectual Tradition’ was held on July 8-9, 2011, in Salzburg, Austria. It was organized by the Dialogue of Civilizations world public forum. Among the participants were Mr. Walter Schwimmer, former general secretary of the Council of Europe, Princess Katarina of Serbia, Great Britain, Prince George Yourievsky of the Romanov Family, Switzerland, representatives of the Friends of Mount Athos, Oxford, the Institute for Orthodox Christian Studies, Cambridge, the Amsterdam Center for Eastern Orthodox Theology, public and governmental bodies, the Roman Catholic Church and the Church of England, business and scientific communities, as well as clergy from the Churches of Russia, Georgia, Greece and other Local Orthodox Churches and brethren from monasteries on the Holy Mount Athos.

B92 Fund continues with humanitarian action "Food for enclaves"

The B92 Fund continues with its humble humanitarian action "Food for enclaves".  During his visit to Kosovo and Metohija the director of the Fund Veran Matic met with Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren who expressed sincere gratitude for the efforts which B92 Fund and especially Mr.Matic personally invest in order to help those who are in great need for help. Regarding this action Bishop Teodosije said that it was a remarkable example of human and Christian solidarity in hard times and that the people in Kosovo and Metohija this help experience as a strong support and backing for its survival in centuries-long homes.

"Children of Lausanne" Exhibition Held in Ankara, Turkey

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presented an exhibition “Children of Lausanne” in Ankara on Thursday. The exhibition covers the history of the exchange of populations between Greece and Turkey through the photographs of the Counselor of the Greek Embassy in Ankara, Mr. Stratos Efthimiou.

The exhibition “Children of Lausanne,” illustrates through photographs, stories of people who were forced to migrate to Greece and Turkey, abandoning their lands as was stipulated in the Treaty of Lausanne.

The exhibition organized in the gallery Kara of the Municipality of Tsangaya will run until July 14th.

18th Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy in Paris Condemns the Genocide against the Armenians, Greeks and Assyrians

The 18th Annual Inter-Parliamentary Assembly was held in Paris on June 21-24.  28 countries participated in this year's work of the Assembly.

On June 29 the press conference was held by Mr. Mkrtich Minasyan, Head of the RA NA delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy, and Mrs. Ruzanna Arakelyan, member of the delegation who spoke of the work and the outcome of the 18th  Assembly.

In Paris on June 21, 2011 the 18th Interplanetary Orthodox Assembly was opened. This year's session was devoted to religious values in the time of the world economic crisis.
In the work of the General Assembly participate parliamentary delegations from the member countries of this organization (Serbia, Russia, Bulgaria, Cypruss, Romania, Ukrain, Belarus, Moldavia, Georgia, Montenegro, Armenia, Albania, Kazakhstan, Litvania, Letonia, Poland, Slovakia, Finnland, Czech Republic, Estonia, Australia, the United States of America and several countries of Asia and Africa).
