Session of the Interplanetary Assembly of Orthodoxy in France

In Paris on June 21, 2011 the 18th Interplanetary Orthodox Assembly was opened. This year's session was devoted to religious values in the time of the world economic crisis.
In the work of the General Assembly participate parliamentary delegations from the member countries of this organization (Serbia, Russia, Bulgaria, Cypruss, Romania, Ukrain, Belarus, Moldavia, Georgia, Montenegro, Armenia, Albania, Kazakhstan, Litvania, Letonia, Poland, Slovakia, Finnland, Czech Republic, Estonia, Australia, the United States of America and several countries of Asia and Africa).

This international assembly was founded in 2004 by an iniative of the Parliament of the Republic of Greece. Since the foundation, its president is Sergey A. Popov, who is also the president of the Committee of the Russian State Duma responsible for public associations adn religious organizations.
