Muslim Radicals Set Churches on Fire, Threaten to Eradicate Christianity in Tanzania

Muslim extremists burned down three churches in Tanzania last week and issued threats to the area's Christians, a leading persecution monitoring group has reported.

According to pastors who spoke with Morning Star News, three churches in northwest Tanzania were set ablaze last Tuesday causing everything inside them to burn. Fortunately, no one was injured.

A war is currently being waged against Christianity on the territory of the Biblical city of Nineveh, which is currently under control of the “Islamic State” militants: according to eyewitnesses’ evidence, the fanatics are trying their best to eliminate the very memory of the Christian presence in Mosul, reports Ankawa news agency.

Cross Set Up at The Bottom of The Black Sea in Sevastopol

A holy cross was set up at the bottom of the Black Sea this Sunday on the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross not far from St. George Monastery, the oldest in Crimea (Sevastopol).

Before settling down the cross, there was a procession with the cross from St. Vladimir Cathedral in Khersones where the cross was kept. Among the participants were clerics and inspirers of the idea from The Materyye Bobry dive club and bikers from a local branch of The Nochnye Volki club, the press service of the Sevastopol Deanery reports on Monday.

Divers made the cross from metal covered with non-corrosive material. It was set up at a depth of twenty meters on a specially made three-ton platform. A buoy will be attached to the cross to be a guide point.

The Ethiopian Orthodox Christians celebrated the great and holy feast of the finding of true cross at Meskel Square in the Captial City of Addis Ababa. The holy event was blessed by His Holiness Abune Mathias – Patriarch of Ethiopia in the divine presence of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II- Patriarch on the See of St. Mark the Evangelist. Archbishops, clergy from Coptic and Ethiopian churches, Sunday school students along with thousands of faithful participated in the colourful event.

ISIS Abducts 12 Egyptians in Libya

The Islamic State in Libya has abducted 12 more Egyptians.  They were reportedly laborers preparing to return back to Egypt. According to RT Arabic, the Egyptians were abducted in Sirte, late in the evening of Sunday, September 13.

Coptic Christians are among those kidnapped. The Egyptian ministry has not issued a statement either confirming or denying the news.
