A fundraising reception for the reconstruction of the Serbian Hilandari Monastery on Mount Athos was held on July 28th at the official home of the family of the Prince of Wales and was hosted by Charles, the Prince of Wales.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch and Minister Sutanovac signed yesterday at  the Army Club in Nis an "Agreement on the performance of religious services in the Army of Serbia with the Serbian Orthodox Church." The agreement regulates the mutual relations between the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Orthodox Church in connection with the conduct of religious services in the Serbian Army. The signing of the Agreement was attended by Their Graces Bishops Irinej of Backa and Vicar Porfirije of Jegar.

Minister of Faith and Diaspora Mr. Srdjan Sreckovic prepared yesterday, on the occasion of the session of the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, a reception for His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch and the members of the Assembly.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch sent condolences to His Holiness Patriarch Kirril of Moscow and All Russia and to President of the Russian Federation Mr. Dmitry Medvedev regarding the yesterday's tragic terroristic attack in Moscow:

On the occasion of the terrible tragedy with great victims that has hit the Russian capital at the international airport "Domodedovo" when it was killed 31 people and injured more than 130, we ask You that together with the families of victims and the whole Russian people accept our sincere and deep condolences.

We pray to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Who is the Resurrection and the Life (John 11:25) for the repose of their souls in the Kingdom of heaven, and You, the families and the brotherly people of Russia comfort in pain.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch thanks for Christmas greetings

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch exchanged Christmas greetings with all heads of Orthodox autocephaly and autonomous Churches, many archbishops, metropolitans and bishops. Serbian Patriarch Irinej has received lots of greetings from higher and secondary education institutions of the Serbian Orthodox Church, administrations of monasteries and many believers in the country and from the diaspora.

Not being able to individually thank everyone, he does in this way, with best wishes for every good of all the faithful of the Serbian Orthodox Church, by sending them a fatherly greeting  and patriarchal blessing.
