Patriarch Porfirije received Archbishop Paul Gallagher on an official visit

His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch, met with Archbishop Paul Gallagher, Holy See Secretary for Relations with States, at the Holy Archangels Monastery in Kovilj, on 23 November 2021.

The meeting was attended by Their Graces Bishops Jerotej of Toplica and Sava of Marca, Head of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch; Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Holy See Professor Sima Avramovic, PhD, and Mr. Bogdan Lubardic, PhD, Professor of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Belgrade.

The feast of Holy Archangel Michael and All the Bodiless Powers of Heaven - Patron Saint-day of Bishop Heruvim

On the feast of Holy Archangel Michael and All the Bodiless Powers of Heaven - November 21, 2021, His Grace Bishop Heruvim of Osijek-Polje and Baranja,  celebrated his baptismal name.

His Grace Bishop Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac officiated the Eucharistic Assemblywith the concelebration of Their Graces Bishops David of Krusevac, Jerotej ,Vicar of the Serbian Patriarch, and Heruvim of Osijek-Polje and Baranja.

Patriarch Porfirije: Patriarch Irinej was one with his people as he was one with Christ

On the first anniversary of the repose of the blessed memory of Patriarch Irinej, His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch officiated the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy in the crypt of the Cathedral of Saint Sava in Belgrade, on November 20, 2021.

Their Graces Bishops Pahomije of Vranje and Arsenija of Nis served together in the prayerful presence of Their Graces Bishops Andrej of Austria-Switzerland, Isihije of Valjevo, Stefan of Remesiana, Jerotej of Toplica, Justin of Hvosno and Sava of Marca. After the Holy Liturgy, Patriarch Porfirije served the annual memorial service for the Patriarch Irinej of blessed repose.

In addition to numerous faithful people, the service was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nikola Selaković; Director of the Office for Cooperation with Churches and Religious Communities, Dr. Vladimir Roganović; representatives of the diplomatic corps, as well as numerous representatives of the cultural and public life of Serbia.

To glory and honor of Saint Prince Alexander Nevsky

His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch, officiated the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy in the Church of St. Alexander Nevsky in Belgrade, with the concelebration of Their Graces Bishops Nazari of Kronstadt of the Moscow Patriarchate and Justin of Hvosno, Vicar of the Serbian Patriarch, on 18 November 2021.

After the Holy Liturgy, the Serbian Patriarch Porfirije consecrated a monument of Saint Alexander Nevsky in the courtyard of the church on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the birth of that great benefactor of God. On that occasion, the solemn act of twinning of Belgrade and Saint Petersburg was performed by the mayor of the Serbian capital, Dr. Zoran Radojicic, and the governor of Saint Petersburg, Mr. Alexander Beglov.

Celebration of the feast day of the Dedication of the Church of the Holy Greatmartyr George - the Patron Saint-day of the City of Novi Sad

On 3/16 November 2021, on the feast day of the Dedication of the Church of the Holy Greatmartyr George, His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch, celebrated the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy in the Novi Sad’s Cathedral church, on the occasion of the Patron Saint-day of the City of Novi Sad.

His Holiness Patriarch was assisted by Their Graces Bishops: Irinej of Backa, Fotije of Zvornik and Tuzla, David of Krusevac, Heruvim of Osek-Polje and Baranja, Isihije of Valjevo, Jerotej of Toplica and Damaskin of Mohács, as well as priests and deacons from several dioceses of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Pan-Orthodox Liturgy honors centennal of the first Serbian Orthodox Diocese in North America

On Sunday, November 7, 2021, the Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Pittsburgh had the honor bestowed upon them to host the Pan-Orthodox Hierarchical Liturgy honoring the Centennial of the founding of the first Serbian Orthodox Diocese in the United States and Canada.

The Holy and Divine Hierarchical Liturgy was celebrated by His Eminence Metropolitan Savas of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Pittsburgh, together with our Father and Hierarch, Bishop Irinej of the Eastern American Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Bishop Saba of the Georgian Apostolic Orthodox Church in North America, His Eminence Archbishop Melchisedek of Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania of the Orthodox Church in America, and His Grace Bishop Maxim of the Western American Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
