Bishop Stefan served the Midnight Christmas Liturgy at Saint Sava Cathedral

His Grace Bishop Stefan of Remesiana, Vicar of the Serbian Patriarch, officiated the Midnight Holy Hierarchical Liturgy at the Saint Sava Cathedral in the Vracar District, in Belgrade, on 7 January 2022, on the feast day of the Nativity of the Lord.

The clergy and deacons concelebrated to the Bishop together in the prayerful presence of many faithful people. In honor of the Birth of the God-Child Christ, the Singing Society of the Saint Sava Cathedral, led by conductor Katarina Stankovic, sang responses.

Bishop Luka Kovacevic of Western Europe (1950-2021)

His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch, officiated the Requiem Office for the Dead in front of the catafalque of Bishop Luka of Western Europe of blessed repose in the Monastery of the Most Holy Mother of God on 27 December 2021.

The Patriarch was concelebrated by His Eminence Metropolitan Joanikije of Montenegro and the Littoral and Their Graces Bishop Vasilije of Srem, Nikanor of Banat, Irinej of Backa, Dositej of Britain and Scandinavia, Pahomije of Vranje, Jovan of Sumadija, Ignatije of Branicevo, Atanasije of Milesevo, Teodosije of Raska-Prizren, David of Krusevac, Arsenije of Nis, Isihije of Valjevo, Metodije of Budimlje-Niksic, Jerotej of Toplica, Justin of Hvosno, Damaskin of Mohacs, Sava of Marca and Jovan of Hum.

Metropolitan Joanikije visits Diocese of Dalmatia

His Eminence Metropolitan Joanikije of Montenegro and the Littoral arrived to visit the Diocese of Dalmatia, on 25 December 2021. 

Brotherhood of the Krka monastery along with His Grace Bishop Nikodim of Dalmatia welcomed Metropolitan Joanikije with joy. On that occasion, doxology was served at the Krka Monastery.

On the Sunday of the Holy Forefathers, December 26, 2021, in the crowded Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Zagreb, His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch, served the Divine Liturgy. The Zagreb clergy celebrated together with the singing of the choir of the Cathedral, conducted by Olena Ciglenjak. After the end of the Holy Liturgy, the Patriarch congratulated Christmas to all Christians who celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of Christ according to the Gregorian calendar.

Serbian Patriarch Porfirije visited the Jasenovac Monastery

His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch, visited the Jasenovac Monastery on 26 December 2021, where he was welcomed by His Grace Bishop Jovan of Slavonia with the sisterhood of the monastery.

His Grace Bishop Irinej of Eastern America expresses his gratitude to His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, and also to the esteemed members of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church for having expressed their paternal care for their spiritual children wherever they may be throughout our Diaspora, and especially in New York, so that we can all together establish peace, harmony and sincere fraternal love among its parishioners, and thus advance the reconstruction of the burnt church.
