Bishop Jeroteј: Through baptism we become a new substance and new people

His Grace Bishop Jerotej of Toplica, Vicar of the Serbian Patriarch, served the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy in the Saint Sava Cathedral in the Vracar district, in Belgrade, on 20 January 2022, on the feast day of the Synaxis of Saint John the Baptist.

Bishop Kirilo: Obedience and calmness are essential virtues

His Grace Bishop Kirilo of Buenos Aires served the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy in the Cathedral church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God in Buenos Aires on 19 January 2022, on Epiphany.

The Bishop was concelebrated by abbot David (Lestani), presbyter Stefan Jovanovic, hieromonk Nikita (Vulic) and hieromonk David (Janketic). During the Liturgy the holy Sacrament of Baptism was received by a servant of God, Maria Laura, a then the rite of Great Blessing of Waters was served.

The Feast day in the Saint Mark's church in Belgrade

In a prayerful presence of His Grace Bishop Sava of Marca, Vicar of the Serbian Patriarch, High Venerable protosynchellos Nektarije (Djuric), Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod of Bishops, officiated the Holy Liturgy in the church of Saint Mark at Tasmajdan in Belgrade on 19 January 2022, on Epiphany.

After the reading of the Gospel, protosynchellos Nektarije addressed the faithful with an appropriate festive sermon.

At the end of the Liturgy, Bishop Sava served the rite of the Great Blessing of the Waters.

Epiphany in the Ruzica Church on Kalimegdan

His Grace Bishop Jerotej of Toplica, Vicar of the Serbian Patriarch, served the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy in the Ruzica church on the Kalimegdan Fortress in Belgrade, on 19 January 2022, on the feast of Epiphany.

After the reading of the Gospel, with the blessing of the Bishop, presbyter Professor  Srboljub Ubiparipovic, Ph.D. addressed the faithful people with a festive sermon. At the end of the Eucharistic gathering, Bishop Jerotej performed the rite of the Great Blessing of the Waters.

Bishop David of Krusevac served in the church on Bagdala

His Grace Bishop David of Krusevac served the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy in the church of Saint John the Baptist on Bagdala, on 9 January 2022, on the feast day of the Holy First  Martyr and Archdeacon Stephen. 

The Bishop was concelebrated by protopresbyter-staurophor Budimir Kojic, hieromonk Sergije (Radivojevic), deacon Nenad Matic.

Considering that His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch, tested positive for SARS - CoV2 during today's testing, according to the specific protocol and doctors' advice, the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church will spend the upcoming days on home treatment.

His Holiness has very mild symptoms of the viral infection, he has been prescribed appropriate therapy, and he respects all epidemiological measures. He is in regular contact with associates through electronic communications and performs administrative tasks completely undisturbed. Also, he does not stop prayerfully supporting doctors and medical staff in their work, and he especially prays for the healing of all those affected by the epidemic. The Patriarch expresses regret that the public manifestations in which he was supposed to participate have been postponed until further notice.
