Patriarch Irinej venerated the Relics of St. Matrona of Moscow

Upon his arrival in Moscow, His Holiness Patriarch of Serbia visited Pokrovsky stauropegial Monastery, where he venerated the relics of St. Matrona of Moscow.
The Patriarch expressed his gratitude to the Very Venerable Mother superior Teophania and her sisterhood for a cordial welcome and hospitality. On behalf of His Holiness Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Bishop John of Domodedev, addressed the Serbian Church delegation.

23. May 2018 - 10:49His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, arrived in Moscow along with His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa and Very Venerable Archimandrite Isihije, Bishop Electus of Mohac.
At the airport „Sheremetyevo“ the Serbian Patriarch and the members of his escort were welcomed by the President of the Department of the External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, Bishop John od Domodyedov, deputy of the President of the DECR Archpriest Nikolai Balashov, some clergy of the Russian capital,the persident of the International Fund of Unity for the Orthodox Peoples Pof. V.A. Alekseyev and associate of the DECR A. Hoshev.
2018 General Assembly of the Conference of European Churches
23. May 2018 - 10:19The CEC General Assembly will bring together in Novi Sad, Serbia, participants from diverse Christian denominations, ecumenical and faith-based organisations, and EU offices, from across Europe.
The General Assembly will be addressing the biblical theme “You shall be my witnesses” (Acts 1:8) – exploring the Christian values of justice, witness and hospitality.

May 2018 - 9:38Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II of Antioch and All East (Syriac Orthodox Church), Archbishop of Centerbury Justin Welby, Lutheran Archbishop of Uppsala and all Sweden Antje Jackelén (Church of Sweden), Bishop Irinej of Backa and Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana will be speakers at the General Assembly of the Conference of the European Churches to be held in Novi Sad from May 31 to June 6, 2018.
The first press conference relating to the forthcoming General Assembly of the Conference of the European Churches in Novi Sad was held in Novi Sad on May 21st. It was said that the event will be addressing the biblical theme “You shall be my witnesses”– exploring the Christian values of justice, witness and hospitality.

May 2018 - 9:16The International Fund for Unity of the Orthodox Peoples, with the blessing of His Holiness Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, President of the Board of Trustees of this Fund, decided unanimously that His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, be awarded with a prestigious award “for a special contribution to the strengthening of the unity of the Orthodox peoples”.
For that occasion, upon the invitation of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, whose letter was personally handed over to the Serbian Patriarch by the President of this Fund Professor Valery Alekseyev, His Holiness will stay in Moscow from 22 until 25 May 2018 along with His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa and Very Venerable Archimandrite Isihije, Bishop Electus of Mohac.
Patriarch Irinej in Ljubljana: There is no difference among people no matter what religion they belong to

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, attended the act of inauguration of the newly built Parish Centre by the Orthodox church of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Ljubljana.
After the talks with the Orthodox faithful, who had come from all parts of Slovenia, as well as from Italy and Austria, the Patriarch celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of Sts. Cyril and Methodius in the centre of Ljubljana with the concelebration of many hierarchs and priests. At the end of the Liturgy the Patriarch delivered a sermon in presence of a great number of believers in the churchyard and called upon them to attend church services regularly. The Serbian Patriarch admonished them to respect their new homeland and to maintain good relations with Slovenians, because “the Serbs have always been in good relations with Slovenians”. The Patriarch also called upon the Serbian people to respect citizens of other religions, “since we are all the children of God and there is no difference among people no matter what religion they belong to”.
