Serbian Patriarch pays visit to USA
4. September 2015 - 14:53His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, has left for the archpastoral visit to the Serbian Orthodox Dioceses in the United States of America and in Canada on 3 September 2015.
His Holiness will stay in America until 24 September 2015. The first and the most important reason for this trip is an official proclamation of newly glorified Equal-to-the-Apostles missionaries of the Serbian origin: Bishop Mardarije (Uskokovic) and Archimandrite Sebastian (Dabovich). The celebrations, on this occasion, will be held on this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, at the seat of the Diocese of Western America in Alhambra (Los Angeles), and everything is organized by His Grace Bishop Dr. Maxim of Western America.

On behalf of the King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID), intergovernmental organization by the Republic of Austria, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Spain, together with the Holy See as Founding Observer, in cooperation with the Ecumenical Patriarchate and under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Secretary General KAICIID Dialogue Centre, Faisal bin Abdulrahman bin Muaammar, and Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople His Eminence Metropolitan Emmanuel invited the Serbian Patriarch Irinej to participate in the international conference "Supporting Citizenship Rights and Peaceful Coexistence between Christians and Muslims in the Middle East". His Grace John, Bishop of Slavonia and Aleksandar M. Prascevic, a staff member of the Holy Synod of Bishops responsible for the Department for Inter-church relations, are appointed as representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church for this international and interreligious meeting.

Christian-Muslim Conference on human rights in Athens
2. September 2015 - 15:42Religious leaders from Christian and Muslim communities in the Middle East will gather in Athens in September to discuss plans to better support the citizenship rights of Christian, other religious and ethnic groups in Iraq and Syria.
At the invitation of the Secretary General of the Intergovernmental organization of Republic of Austria, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kingdom of Spain, the Dialogue Center KAICIID based in Vienna and headed by Mr. Faisal Bin Abdulrahman Bin Muaammar, His Grace Bishop Jovan of Slavonia and Mr. Aleksandar Prascevic, officer of the Holy Synod of Bishops in the Department for interreligious affairs, will represent the Serbian Orthodox Church in the work of the interreligious forum which, in cooperation with the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Greece, is held from 2 - 3 September 2015 in Athens on the theme: Supporting civil rights and peaceful coexistence of Christians and Muslims in the Middle East – challenges, practice and open issues.
