On May 10, at King’s College London, one of the top 20 universities in the world (2013-4 QS international world rankings), a rare history and fine art book, published by Sebastian Press, was presented to a wider public interested to study or expand their knowledge about the cultural heritage of Kosovo and Metohija (Serbia). 

Bishop Maxim of Western America and Abbott Sava of Decani Monastery spoke about the book at the College Chapel at the Strand. This chapel is seen by many as the spiritual heart of the College. Vocal quartet led by Bozidar Smiljanic sung during the presentation.

Patriarch Irinej celebrates the Holy Liturgy at the Cathedral church

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy at the Cathedral church in Belgrade yesterday, on 17 May 2015.

The Liturgy was attended by Their Graces Bishops Mitrophan of Eastern America, Dositej of Britain-Scandinavia, Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic and Andrej of Austria-Switzerland.

120 years since the decision on the construction and establishment of the Society (1895-2015) and 30 years since the continuation of the works (1985-2015).

This year's regular meeting of the Central Committee for completion of Saint Sava Memorial Cathedral on Vracar was held at the parish house of the Memorial Cathedral on 16 May 2015. After the meeting a memorial service was served in the Cathedral for all its benefactors and donors. Before the beginning of the meeting His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, with hierarchs of our Church visited the Memorial Cathedral of Saint Sava and the crypt of the Cathedral, where they had an insight into the current works.

The Holy Assembly of Bishops began its work

This year’s work of the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church began on Thursday, May 14, 2015 with the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral church of Saint Archangel Michael in Belgrade.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, officiated at the Divine Liturgy with the concelebration of many bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Following the Holy Liturgy the rite of Invocation of the Holy Spirit was served. With this service this year’s meeting of the Holy Assembly of Bishops began.
