The remains of Slobodan Jovanovic were laid in the Alley of deserving citizens at the New Cemetary, in the presence of  Serbian President Boris Tadic, high state officials and admirers of the famous historian and  lawyer.

On behald of the Holy Synod of Bishops the  burial was attended by His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa. The commemoration was served by His Grace Vicar Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno.

On the occasion of the feast day of St. Amphilochius of Iconium after which he got monastic name, His Eminence Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral kyr Amfilohije served with the blessing of competent Bishop Longin, on Tuesday, December 6, the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of Most Holy Theotokos in the New Gracanica monastery near Chicago, USA, the seat of the Diocese of New Gracanica-Midwestern America.

With great joy the faithful of the Western American Diocese, God-loving clergy, venerable monastics and our neighbors welcomed His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Kyr Irinej in Phoenix, Arizona. His Holiness during his visit on the Feast  Day of the Entry of the Theotokos Into the Temple on Sunday, December 4th, 2011, served the Divine Hierarchical Liturgy at St. Sava Church. He also visited the Greek Orthodox monastery of St. Anthony the Great (Florence, AZ) and the Serbian monastery of St. Paisius (Safford, AZ).

On December 6, 2011, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations, arrived to Slovakia for the celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and on the invitation of His Beatitude Metropolitan Christopher of the Czech Lands and Slovakia.

His Eminence Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral kyr Amfilohije, within his visit to the Diocese of Buenos Aires and South-Central-American, as its first Bishop-administrator served on Sunday, December 4, on the feast day of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos in the church of St. George in the capital city of Venezuela - Caracas.

The theme of the conference was The First World War and the Balkan knot - the Balkans before the First World War.
