The Venerable Sash of the Mother of God - from Vatoped to Russia

October 2011 - 8:20The delegation of the Foundation of Saint Andrew The First-Called, with the blessing of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, brought on October 20, 2011 in the Russian Federation, The Venerable Sash of the Most Holy Lady, which has been kept for centuries in the monastery Vatopedi at Mount Athos. Many believers could worship the relics, that will remain in Russia until November 23. On that occasion the Sash along with the prayer could be worshipped by believers from many Russian cities - from St. Petersburg, where was the first place where the shrine was brought, through Yekaterinburg, Vladivostok, Krasnoyarsk, Niznhny Novgorod, Diviyev, Sharansk, Samara, Rostov and Kalingrad until Moscow.

Patriarch meets with president of New Serbian Democracy party
20. October 2011 - 15:22His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch received today, on October 20, 2011 Mr. Andrija Mandic, the president of the New Serbian Democracy from Montenegro. On this occasion Mr. Mandic gave His Holiness an unique icon of Holy Serbian new martyrs, a work of iconographic atellier "Minic" from Belgrade, and which will be available to believers at the church of St. Alexander Nevsky who want to see and kiss it.
Memorial service to Ilija M. Kolarac at Cathedral church

October 2011 - 10:00Yesterday, on St. Thomas Day - October 19, 2011, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch served in the Belgrade Cathedral church a memorial service to Ilija Milosavljevic Kolarac, the benefactor who redebted for all times the Serbian kin with his Christian goodness and philanthropy. The commemoration was attended by representatives of the Kolarac Endownment.

The Central Committee of the Conference of European Churches would like to encourage the member churches to make their ministry with and for Roma minorities more visible, and take further steps to overcome barriers between minority and majority communities.
The CEC Central Committee appreciates the adoption of the EU Framework for national strategies for Roma integration by the EU during the Hungarian EU Presidency in June 2011, and wishes to encourage the member and partner organisations to get actively involved in the development of the national strategies.
